With So Much Stress, I’ve Got Just the Ways to Calm Down
As much as I love my job, I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t sometimes stressful. The pressure to meet deadlines and the expectation to converse with so many other people add up! With so much weight on my shoulders, my daily obligations are a perfect recipe for anxiety.
To keep me calm and relaxed, here are just a few of the things I like to do!
Playing and Laughing with My Kids
Everyone needs to laugh more. Finding humor in life is an easy way to relieve tension and reduce stress. It might even boost your lifespan!
When I’m feeling stressed, I play with my kids. We watch funny movies and even button-mashing video games together. It keeps the stress out of my head and brings us all closer together. Laughter and fun are the natural antidotes to anxiety!

Facial Rejuvenation to Keep My Skin Youthful
One of my favorite ways to get rid of stress is to go to the spa, lay back, and get a massage. I always feel like a new me afterward! I also like putting on facemasks and undergoing dermabrasion treatments. It all keeps me feeling refreshed and looking youthful!
When I’m home, I love to do my skincare routine, another form of facial rejuvenation that includes cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing. It seems simple, but it helps me stay relaxed and clean after a particularly tough workday.
The next step I will take in my quest for facial rejuvenation is to get a facelift in New York. It’ll help me look ten years younger and will get rid of my more self-conscious thoughts!
Calm Music in the Tub
After work, I love to take a hot bath and listen to some calming music while I soak. I also like to light scented candles and turn off the lights. It’s a peaceful environment unlike any other!
My favorite tunes to listen to are jazzy. I can’t get enough of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and other greats of that time. They’re so soothing and uplifting at the same time and are perfect for getting rid of all the stresses of life!
Some people prefer to listen to Tibetan singing bowls. These are quite literally metal bowls that are rubbed with a stick. The sounds they emit are soothing and harmonic and resonate with the soul. Sound therapy is a very real thing, and singing bowls are extremely popular choices! They’re worth checking out—I can’t wait to buy a few more of them myself.
Tidying Up My House Works Wonders
It may seem like a chore for most people, but for me, cleaning and organizing the house is incredibly relaxing. The sense of accomplishment after finishing a tidying project is strong and gives me a greater sense of well-being. The best way I can describe it is that it’s a lot like scratching an itch that has been bothering you for ages!
Why wait for spring to do some cleaning? Just open the windows, let the fresh air in, and start to spruce things up!
Napping More to Sleep the Stress Away
Sometimes, I lie in bed and take a quick nap to clear my head and recenter myself. It helps me feel more energetic and excited as the day goes on. The best time for a nap is during my lunch break, and I’m sure that hits home for a lot of people! It gives me the perfect amount of time to relax and re-energize.
In Japan, employees are allowed to sleep at work, as it shows they’ve been working hard. Imagine napping at your desk! That sounds pretty great to me, and I think that we should implement the policy in American workspaces. Of course, my boss probably wouldn’t appreciate it, but that doesn’t mean I can’t dream!
